The 16th-century Granary at Spodnji trg’s northern end is where the town’s grain stores, collected as taxes, were once kept.
The building stood in its original form prior to the 1511 earthquake, after which it was completely renovated. It was run by a special official of the bishop.
Today the granary houses a permanent gallery exhibiting the works of academic painter Franc Mihelič.
You can enjoy and take a photo from the little square next to the Granary and maybe take a short walk by the river.
