You can find the house of impressionist painter Ivan Grohar in Spodnja Sorica in Selška valley.
The house in which he was born stands in the middle of the village and holds a small collection of items associated with Grohar and an ethnographic collection as well as a gallery.
The local church, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, contains some of Grohar’s early paintings, and there is a statue of him near by.
Spodnja Sorica is also known as one of the prettiest villages in Slovenia. It lies on the starting point of the Julian alps, so the scenery is unforgettable.
