MARY’S SHRINE

Mary’s Shrine with St. Rocco and St. Anthony standing next to an obelisk which was erected by town folk in 1751 in gratitude for being protected from the plague and fire, and in recognition of the saints for their protection against the severe epidemics.

During the hot months there are a few benches around the shrine for visitors to sit and enjoy Škofja Loka’s central pulse. The benches are also one of the favorite places for the locals to hang out and chat. Enjoy!
