Kapucinski Trg 1, 4220 Škofja Loka 0 Reviews
The Škofja Loka Capuchin monastery at Capuchin Square was built in 1709.
The main altar has a picture of St. Ana, a work of the Venetian school from the 18th century.
It keeps a library with about 30000 books, among them about 5200 of older dates. The most prominent, in addition to the Škofja Loka Passion Play, is a copy of Jurij Dalmatin’s Bible and some 16th-century copies of Plato and Aristotle.
There are currently six Capuchin brothers in the monastery. If you book a guided tour at the local tourist organization, you can maybe get to know the Capuchin brothers. The most famous and friendly Capuchin is Brother Joško.
If you meet this loving guy you should definitely talk to him and have some laughs. Enjoy!
